School's Personnel and Administrative Service
This unit is divided into:
- The Teachers' Services Commission and Appeals Tribunal
- Conditions of Service
- The Teachers’ Services Commission and Appeals Tribunal are advisory bodies to the Honourable Minister of Education, Youth, and Culture. Their responsibilities are:
- Recommending the appointment of principals to the Honourable Minister
- Evaluating the qualifications of teachers
- Approving the registration of all Teachers in the public schools
The Appeals Tribunal also hears the appeal of teachers who have been dismissed by their Board of Management.
The Conditions of Service section provides personnel services as follows:
- Processing of pension particulars for teaching and non-teaching staff who have retired
- Preparation of payment vouchers for utilities and grants for 1,000 schools islandwide on a monthly and termly basis respectively
- Preparation of the loan agreement forms for the bonding of teachers on study leave
- Work permits for teaching and non-teaching staff islandwide
- Approving loans to teachers to purchase a motor vehicle.
