School's Personnel and Administrative Service

This unit is divided into:

  • The Teachers' Services Commission and Appeals Tribunal
  • Conditions of Service
  • The Teachers’ Services Commission and Appeals Tribunal are advisory bodies to the Honourable Minister of Education, Youth, and Culture. Their responsibilities are:
    • Recommending the appointment of principals to the Honourable Minister
    • Evaluating the qualifications of teachers
    • Approving the registration of all Teachers in the public schools
    • The Appeals Tribunal also hears the appeal of teachers who have been dismissed by their Board of Management.

The Conditions of Service section provides personnel services as follows:

  • Processing of pension particulars for teaching and non-teaching staff who have retired
  • Preparation of payment vouchers for utilities and grants for 1,000 schools islandwide on a monthly and termly basis respectively
  • Preparation of the loan agreement forms for the bonding of teachers on study leave
  • Work permits for teaching and non-teaching staff islandwide
  • Approving loans to teachers to purchase a motor vehicle.
