The Ministry of Education is saddened by the brutal killing of 15-year-old Shellian Gardener, a Grade Nine student of the Frome Technical High School in Westmoreland.
The Ministry is providing counselling to students and teachers of the school following the killing of Shellian on Sunday.
During devotion on Monday morning, February 23, the Principal of Frome Technical High received a report that Shellian had been abducted from her home in Hatfield, Westmoreland, and killed.
The Principal and a team from the school visited the scene of the crime and confirmed the report that Shellian was dead.
A group of guidance counsellors have been providing counselling for students and teachers at Frome Technical High School.
The school has also been advised that it should provide support for the family of the deceased.
